In Memoriam
Not every resident who comes to Havencroft stays forever.
Some arrive in their final chapter. Some stay only long enough to know safety, comfort, and kindness. Others spend years making themselves thoroughly at home before leaving behind a suspiciously large hole in our hearts.
This page is dedicated to the animals we've loved and lost along the way. We remember them not because their stories ended, but because they mattered. They helped shape this place, and this place was better because they were here.

Wobbles was a Nubian goat who was sweet and loving. Malnutrition from her previous situation caused irreversible damage to her joints, the same as her sister, but she brought much love and joy while she was with us.
Legs was a Nubian goat who loved food more than anything. Malnutrition from her previous situation caused irreversible damage to her joints, but she brought much whimsy and delight while she was with us.
Cobalt: a barn cat taken in due to extreme fear aggression. We were able to rehabilitate him enough to become sweet with his chosen humans but unfortunately, he ran into the road and was hit by a car.
Hank was a senior pup who we loved dearly, lost due to mass cell tumors.
Stumpy was the sweetest old lady. For the past year her arthritis had been acting up, and when neurological symptoms started, we had to make the choice to end her suffering. She was a love.
Rowan had been in our family for years, and finally left us at ~20 years old. She was a rescue who brought years of love and affection to our lives.
Sprout: we lost this delightful animal to a very unfortunate accident. We were devastated and miss her dearly.
Roxie was an elderly Westie with the sweetest personality. She was only with us for six days when bladder cancer caught up to her. We adored her and were devasted at her loss.
Goatotiller was a senior goat with a sweet personality, who we lost to Caprine Arthritis & Encephalitis. We wished he'd been able to live longer, but were happy we were able to give him a happy last few weeks of life.
Tornado: a barn cat who was half affectionate and half psychotic. We lost her to liver failure.
Thomas was one of the first animals at Havencroft as well. He was lost to the extreme summer heat.
Gretel was one of the two original goats at Havencroft. She was a senior lady with a delightful personality, who unfortunately contracted sepsis from a mammary abcess.
Snowdrop was a Great Pyrenees dog who was unable to overcome the traumas of her previous life. We care for her as long as we could and were devastated by her loss.
